Transmitter and Receiver Window Designs for Orthogonal Time-Frequency Space Modulation

In this paper, we investigate the impacts of transmitter and receiver windows on performance orthogonal time-frequency space (OTFS) modulation propose window designs to improve OTFS channel estimation data detection performance. particular, assuming ideal pulse shaping filters at transceiver, derive windowing effective its in delay-Doppler (DD) domain, total average transmit power, noise covariance matrix. When state information (CSI) is available analyze minimum squared error (MSE) an optimal minimize MSE. The proposed can be interpreted as a mercury/water-filling power allocation scheme, where mercury firstly filled before pouring water pre-equalize (TF) domain channels. CSI not but estimated receiver, apply Dolph-Chebyshev (DC) either or which effectively enhance sparsity DD domain. Thanks enhanced sparsity, spread due fractional Doppler significantly reduced, leads lower floor both compared with that rectangular window. Simulation results verify accuracy obtained analytical confirm superiority improving over conventional design.
